When I was at the GM Training center in El Paso getting out of the Army (Porject Transition) our instructor said it was a prank they played often. Charge up a capacitor and put it in somebody's shop apron. They will hold the charge until somebody discharges it withy their hand.
Haha no harm ment had it done to me a few times!! the best one had to be someone put a charged one in my coveralls and when i reached in my pocket ZAP!!! I just looked around for the guy laughing the hardest.
When I worked as a mechanic professionally we used to charge them, fold the wire over, and toss to some unsuspecting person, when they caught them they got zapped. To this day if you toss something small to me I dont recognize in flight I will still let it hit the floor!
Then there was also running a ground wire between two cars, then hook a wire to a plug wire on one car and and the other end with a gator clip to the seat of the pants of the guy leaning on the second car and hitting the key!!!
LOL... used to love doing that with the capacitors out of aircraft magnetos.Would charge them up with a spark plug tester and set em on the work bench and wait for guys to come in and say "hey whats this" ooh that made for an entertaining day at the hangar.
