I Joined a few, the MCG and the GTOAA, also a team shelby member, and will have to get a new NHRA membership, I like the stucture and support of having the clubs/groups/org. ,but like most don't have the time or funds to be real active in all of them, and I still like to do some things the way I want with out steping on toes or breaking club rules ,(so I tend to be on the lone wolf side of things not mixed in with the pack so to speak.) not that I don't enjoy the clubs and what they are about because I do enjoy the fact that they are out there and are a great for all who join them... just think its all in what you want.

Not a member of any club's,but I plan on becoming a supporting member here on the forum, the 1st.of the year. With all the info, and what I've learned so far is priceless.I was in a few "clubs" a while ago,and there was just too much un-needed "politics" as to who was running what, when and why they were doing it.Was too much for Me.

You have all just inspired me to become a supporting member here. I actually never noticed that I could do so! But I just sent my money to Stefan in support.

I am also a member of NSRA and Goodguys.

No local clubs for me. I used to, but I got tired of the typical club that has 6 guys doing all the work and trying to get it to work and the other 20 guys that don't care at all. So now in my area there is a loose group of guys that all cruise together to events, hang out and help one another. But we/ they are not a club. Just friends.

Supporting member here and at Serious Explorations (online discussion board for Ford Explorers and Rangers)... Both well worth supporting for several reasons ... learned more here in two years than I would ever believe, having owned these cars for decades total. The time-saving of networking like this is tremendous too.

Not a member of any car clubs at this time ... my band absorbs so much of the spare time I have (we play out at least 3xs more than I had hoped for when I started this whole thing ...) ... really cuts into the car time, more work than most folks will ever know ... but it is an ABSOLUTE BLAST, too. Gotta' do it while I still have good fingers and ears.

    What about you?

I am a contributing member here on this forum, "well worth the money" renewed member of the Maverick Comet Club International(MCCI). I have to other hobbies which I am in several organizations. I hope to attend the Roundup this year. Some people are group orientiated, some are not. I believe more can be learned and accomplished in numbers despite politics, personalities and all other human characteristics than cud ever be individually. This is my first (5 months) venture into any forum. I am still learning the protocol. After being out of this hobby for many years it has proved to be an asset for me.

I also joined C.A.M.E.O at the Silver Springs show last week. After I send in my money to MCCI, I will have them all covered, I guess.

I applaud the efforts of all the clubs related to these great cars we celebrate on this site, but I just do not have a real reason to be a part of them any more. I learned my lesson who my friends are and are not this past year as I came clean about some issues in my life........I have 3 real friends from this site and the car clubs.....I thought I had many more....:yup::(....I was just foolin myself....i took it hard....but it made me a better person in the end and best of all I have no hard feelings about that....in the past I would have held a grudge. :tiphat:

I drive my car, my wife is the passenger, best club ever is the "Married Maverick club":D and I am so thankful I cleaned up my life and saved my marriage. I have the best wife ever!!!!! She is pretty, sexy, hot, honest, nice, sweet, caring, understanding, etc.....

I rarely have an issue come up where I need help. I'm an A.S.E. Master Mechanic with all the right tools. There are a couple on here I would bow down to skill wise but very few. Otherwise I typically have it covered......

In closing, clubs are not for everybody but I encourage all to at least give it a whirl....many good people in them etc for a variety of reasons!!.....

I may expand the Maverick Mafia group ,an idea that sprung up between me and a couple other members. It would be for Mavericks that are heavily modified, for racing, pro touring etc....
It will remain A small close knit group.........that's still a big what if.....

I'm a member of the MCCI and the very casual and relaxed NRMCC. I/we go to cruises, car shows, swap meets, and the odd Mav-Com breakfast. Help each other out to repair our cars and have a good time.

Like Darren said, no President, no Treasurer just a call, show up if you can and see you there. That's all.:D(y)

Also belong to the Southern California Cougar Club, Arizona Cougar Club, Cougar Club of America, and a life member in the National Rifle Association - NRA.

What kind of car club do you all belong too?

    Eating or Driving?

My primary Cougar club is an eating club. Being a young 48 years old, I am the third youngest member. LOL Most members are retired and just want to get together socially for lunch once a month.
