Ok first off , I'd like to thank y'all for all your responses. It comforts me to know people like you are on here to provide insight.
With that being said , the lights are working. As embarrassing as this is to say, I didn't know the actual socket was the source of the lights ground. I had the sockets out to replace the old bulbs and decided to "test" them before putting them back in.

It's always the little things we overlook that make us feel like imbeciles. I had electrical issues with my Harley last year, chased every possible lead but it would still act up. Sometimes it cranked slow other times it spun over fine so I decided to have the battery checked. When I went to pull it out I found the issue, I left off the plug for the battery tender and that was enough to let the battery bolt bottom out before clamping the cable securely. Missed an entire summer of riding because I didn't check the first thing I should have looked at!:slap:

Glad you got it figured out! I had also forgotten the Mavericks use the housing for the ground! Comets have plastic taillight housings with a separate ground wire.

I didn't know Mavericks had metal housings, being as the only car I've owned is a Comet. I recall removing all my grounds in all my light housings, cleaning grounds and replacing rear housing bulbs w/ LED bulbs. Thanks for bringing this to those of us who were/are not aware of the differences.

Just remember when dealing with a dual filament bulb like used in signal & tail lamps, there MUST be three wires, one for each of the filaments and of course the ground... If not three wires the socket is ground...

when we did the rewire on my Mav, we replaced the sockets with ones with ground wires attached. had too many problems with loosing ground to a light because the socket came loose...:bouncy:
