I guess i will buy adjustable rod and hopefully it will shorten enough to be were I want it. I am 6'2" and my knee hits steering wheel and my foot hits side of brake pedal when going to apply brakes. Thanks for input.

When I put the disc on mine, had the same problem. I used an adjustable rod, but had to put some more threads on it to shorten it enough. I am 6'2" also, and it is a problem to get the pedal down low enough. I bent the brake pedal a bit to get some room for my big feet with the accel. pedal. I think I bent it about a quarter inch, and it gained enough. Just bend it down low, not near the top. Won't fit back on the bracket if you do.

Hi Earl! Hope things are well w/ you. Finally warm enough here to get in the garage.
Did u heat the brake pedal arm? A little detail - if you don't mind.

I'm 5' 9"...and I can't even fathom being able to fit in a maverick at any height higher than 5' 10" lol. I have the seat back all the way and still feel a little cramped. how do you guys manage?

At that height, it may be beneficial to modify your seat tracks/mounts to move the seat further back.

I'm 6'6" (or as my son says, 5'18" LOL). My knees fit nicely on either side of the steering wheel.
Can someone 5'9" see over the steering wheel? Just kidding....

5' 18", lol. It makes sense that with additional height, you could move your legs to either side of the steering wheel(I wish mine was adjustable, not sure if that was ever an option in the Mavericks) Thankfully I have a tall torso and short legs, so I fit fairly well inside the maverick (Even better when I fix the falling head liner!) My buddy is 6' 7", he sold me a 92 corolla that was stick, (really small car, only weighs 2400 pounds!) it was always funny seeing him in the drivers seat of such a small vehicle.

At this point I'm thread jacking...so I apologize

Everett, yes, I did. I think that the pedal is the strongest piece on your car, so it is a tough one to bend. If you have a vice anchored down strong enough, I guess you could. Much easier to remove the pedal and heat it a bit to get it where you want it. It might be a bit shorter, but not enough so you will notice. I have '96 Honda Civic seats in my car and made my mounts, but I use the same holes for the tracks. I had to mount the seats to a piece 2" aluminum angle iron, as they are side mounted instead of bottom mounted. They seem to fit well, though. Feel free to ask anything you need. You going to the Gathering in Somerset this year? Great fun in a really nice place.
