you can make it out a little bit easier if you use altavista's babelfish translator...it doesn't do a perfect job, since it translates word for word, and doesn't care about sentence structure or adapting for the english language, but it makes it managable anyway.

if you use it, you'll want to make sure to select PORTUGESE to ENGLISH, since thats what they speak in Brazil, not spanish;)

    Dayum!

Lotta grabber hoods and little bumpers down there. A Bi-lingual fella could start an export business on this stuff.

wonder if shorthorns news letter was translated in their language if more of them would join our club? I am not suggesting it, it would be a big job, just thinking how neat it would be to comunicate(spelling) with some of them, they probadly got some neat storys to tell, as you can see by my spelling I haven't got english down yet!

Yeah, the brazilian lights are bigger. I actually bought a pretty clean set on ebay a couple months back and I love how they look. They also have a chrome plated ring around each little protrusion, looks good. I'll post some pics when I put mine in.

    Brazilian tail lights

How long before you try to install the lights Mavman427? You've really got my curiosity up now. I've been told you definitely do have to cut, and others have said you definitely don't. Of course none of these people actually had a set of the lights themselves, so I don't know who to believe. They do look bigger, but I didn't realize there was any trim ring on them. If you got the time, and don't mind the hassle, I would sure appreciate a few measurements from the backside of the lights, as well as a few close up photos of the light prior to your installation. If you don't mind doing this, you can e-mail it to me direct at roxcar@comcast.net. Thanks!!!

The brazilian lights are substantially different. They are about an inch taller and maybe two or three inches longer. You definitely have to cut to make them fit. I'm just a beginner with bodywork, but it does look like a pretty challenging job. I don't like hack jobs so I'll be shooting for a clean install. I'm considering just extending the existing slot as it is about the right size and then welding on little tabs from the top edge for the mounting studs. It will be awhile before I get to this as I'm putting my sport mirrors on right now and working on fabricating some bucket seat brackets. I only get a couple of days every few months to work on mine as I'm away at college right now.

Incredible ... there are currently 41 Mavericks for sale on this site ... Most of them the GT version - man they have nice interiors.

Two Grabber hoods for sale as well ...

Wish I had a relative in Brazil to work out some sort of purchase ... Would be cool to have a 1978 Maverick GT 4-speed all decked out ...
