    X2!

    I'm 100% sure that's not a Maverick Bumper.

    Its more like this...

    D(there should be a number here)ZZ17757A

    "D" = 1970s

    "Z" = Mustang

    "Z" = Ford Service Parts

    "17757" = 17736-17999 = Bumper

    "A" = "Suffix

    Single letter indicates specific application. Increases alphabetically (A, B, C, etc.) for each minor revision (same prefix and basic part number) and then double letters (AA, AB, AC, etc.) when all single letters are used."

    What is this picture? Is this one a Mustang? This actually does look like the bumper.... very little curve, no cut out , short set back.... not sure if I am using the right terminology here. Measured the bumper and it is 69" end to end total. The end curves measure approx 6". I guess I should just unwrap the thing and take another picture, eh?

    72 mustang! it would make sense since the part number points to a mustang model.

    Check the part number again, then check it again.

    It's not adding up..... there should be a number between the D and the ZZ.

    If it has a 1 in there.... then bingo its a 71/72 mustang bumper.

    the part number for that is:

    Doesn't look like a Mustang one. The curve is parallel on your bumper pictured. The 71-72 Mustang bumper curves up towards the top at both ends.- Matt

    I just measured the front bumper on my Comet ... should be the same as Mav except for the added bulge in the center.

    The ends on mine seem a lot more parallel than yours ... yours splay out more.

    My bumper is 66 inches overall width. Each end is 9 inches front-to-back.

    Now I am really mystified as to what you have there....
    Not Maverick ... too wide
    Not Pinto ... should be narrower than a Mav
    Not 71 and up Mustang ... wrong shape
    and I doubt 70 Mustang ... those have an overall shape that is more like a "C"
    I doubt early Capri ... should be narrower than Mav

    maybe earlier Mustang? ... I can't think of any other Ford that had thin bumpbers ...
