Try reaming the tie rod mount hole. If that dont help...You need to find Mav/Granada spindles. The reamer will put a taper in the top of the hole to seat the tie rod end properly. Good luck!!!

To change the tie rod to the top of the arm you are going to nee the proper tapered reamer - not a drill. You will need to ream it to a larger size and install a tapered insert using some bearing mount (loc-tight) to secure the sleeve.
It will still not be right but it might be better. You are better off getting the Granada or factory Maverick/Comet part.

Ok...question, will the Versailles rotors and calipers fit on the granada or Maverick spindles? Does anybody know? I really don't want to buy the whole shabang if I don't have to and it would be a little cheaper in both cost and shipping!

I got a question. Are those recap tires? What the heck is wrong with that sidewall on the passenger side? Better tires couldnt hurt.

Finally!!! success on purchasing some spindles, after countless attemps at buying from e-bay and being shot down in flames on my bids, I used my little program (more on this later) to find some in Brooks, Kentucky. they were listed as Granada spindles and when I called the man about them and told him what I wanted them for he said they were actually Maverick spindles but he listed them as Granada because thats what everyone wants to get.
Any hoot they are mine now and will be shipped out monday total cost plus shipping $165.00.
Now how I find stuff (like the orange Grabber for $1000.00 in Az. yesterday and my Grabber when I bought it from In.) is a little program called Craiglook...it's nice to search the entire U.S. for what you want that is listed on Craigslist!
Here Ya go.....http://craiglook.com/ just type in what ya want and hang on!!
    Enjoy

Well finally...it pays to make friends at the pick n pull! especially if he likes your Maverick, as stated in the spindles post I went nice and early to the p n p today and when I walke in my buddy says "hey I got something in you are going to like"
I said great, thinking it was center caps for my magnum 500 wheels....he said "it's a 1978 Granada" and my eyes lit up and the bulb finally turned on in my head!
He said hold on a minute as he went to the back, he brought back one of the guys from the processing area and told him about me waiting for 6 months for a Granada to come onto the yard, the processing guy said I WILL have it on the yard at 8:00 tomorrow morning! So guess where I will be at 7:55 Friday morning!!!! It is fresh I will be the first one to pick and pull it!!!!

Man thats great. :thumbs2: I just took a trip to my local junk yard, and every donor car was picked already.:( O-well. Did find a MustangII with the front suspention and steering still intact. Dont know if that can be usefull or not? On the way out I noticed a picture on the wall of a white maverick, guess thats why all the disc brake donor cars where already picked. Well happy pickin!
