Going straight down really gets into crowded territory...

yeah I can see....great picture by the way. Well its starting to look more and more like Hedman 88400's for me. I have just heard bad quality issues on them. But I am going to hope something like your thorleys will pop up. So I am going to hold out as ling as I can.

I just want to say thanks again you are super helpful and I appreciate it big time

One more thing I just noticed...I am using the same shifter as "scs" above... I see the shifter "bucket?" looks very close to the tailshaft of the tranny. Well I thn notice he is also using what looks to be a hump adapter type of mount (again I do not know exact part name) and it looks like it raises the shifter up some.....I do not have this piece. So I may be in trouble with the shifter "bucket (the bottom of the shifter)" hitting my tailshaft on my tranny??

What do you guys think? Do I have to have the "transmission hump mounting bracket" for my mustang floor shifter?

I have a 75 Maverick with a factory 302 and c4 column shift. I used a Mustang shifter without the shifter hump and have never had an issue with it. I did however reinforce the trans tunnel from below as I feel the sheet metal on the tunnel needed the added rigidity around the shifter.
