I refuse to back down until original poster posts pics that show a car substantially different than the one I posted pics of. Yes, Vodka is present in my current dinner menu...
im thinking of turning my maverick into a Manitoba special! if you lived in Canada, you would understand why I am about to be mocked.
Its like the people who come up to you saying that they had a factory Boss 302 Maverick. No matter what you say theyre still right
If it's anything like a Pennsylvania Special, those NOS rotted quarter panels and rusted through cowls are the hardest thing to find in mint condition
Like this car: I was interested in it, just for some little bits of Orange interior, then someone informed him, that since it was a Grabber, it had a Boss 302. That smart person, bought the car, for a fair chunk of cash, only to find out it wasn't a Boss 302...then proceeded to call me, and try and sell some parts to me, and when I said "It wasn't a Boss 302, was it..." he hung up on me.
Ya, I'm eyeballing those NOS Pennsylvania Special rear bumper brackets on that orange car in Dave's last post. Lookin' good
Believe it or not but the maverick I own is a Manitoba car and it's in perfect condition only one rust hole about a toonie sized on the bottom of the passenger side fender. But then again it luckily had never seen a Manitoba winter! Also my dads cs comet was Manitoban and he bought it off some old woman who was the first owner of it and it only had 2k miles on it. I doubt she converted it to a cs so it must be a dealer or possibly a actual factory make. The car when he bought it was still pristine!
On any other car forum you would get the usual "show us the pics of the proof or GTFO" flaming were a nice bunch though. We welcome anything new, but of course we will always doubt it first. Weve been lead on with similar stories all the time, just look at the recent "grabber GTS". Its not impossible to shock us though, until recently we all thought you couldnt get a track lok as an option but someone came up with proof.
. Luckily I do have a pic. But only one. And it's a photograph it's a pic from 1990 so I'll have to scab it in! As soon as I find it I'll make sure to scan it in and no worries I wouldn't be statin it if I didn't have proof!!
Unless it has a 6 digit DSO number, I seriously doubt that it is a factory built regional or promotional car. Get a Kevin Marti Report. I am currrently restoring a 1968 Mustang California Special, for the last 30 years, every Mustang supply outfit in the world has sold the "California Special" script like in that picture. Anyone could have put that script on the side of that car, even a dealer.
That's just something, someone did to their car, not anything factory. There never was one from the factory.
