(bossmav heres my thread) they sent me a 4 piston drag brakes for a 72 maverick they said the two piston would roll with a line lock i got it all bolted on i put the hub on and had no adjustment on the bearings they were cut to deep in the hub i ran out of thread sent them back(at my expense because thats the way ford is) they made a spacer put in behind the race that worker just fine be sure to check the deph on the race in the hub & spindel you have i have the stock 72 drum spindle & hub ( 20 lb brakes& spindle) the disk brake spindle has more weight on them (45lb with brakes & spindel) the AEROSPACE BRAKES are amazing they have no drag on them when you take the brake off and the set is only 15 lb YOU WILL LOVE THEM but this may save you time and $$$ (y)

As far as weight goes, there is not much (if any) difference in weight between a disc brake spindle and a drum spindle........How could a disc brake spindle weigh 20 lbs. more then a drum spindle??????

Just a little FYI for those interested in these brakes, I noticed at the track that ALOT of the Outlaw 10.5" cars are running these very same brakes. They run 4.40's to 4.60's at 140+mph.........they must be good brakes!!!!(y)

Fordman, what kind of strut rods are you running??

I can tell you one thing, my car is DEFINITELY not a show car!!!! Yes, it may be shiny but i've got dings and dents all over the place......the suspension stuff just looks good because I had just put a fresh coat of paint on it...now it's all dinged up from where I set the alignment. Gotta remember, i've only been drag racing mine regularly for three seasons now.....before that I would just go to the drags on ocassion.....

the stock 5 lug desc brake has 20 lb on the stock 4 lug drum brake thats the spindle and all so when you go to disc brakes you add 40 lb to the car the disc spindle is heavy duty because of the bolt holes put in them for the calipers ARE you saying the mustang brakes work on the maverick the struts have no bushing just rod ends with alum rods

Oh, I see what you're saying.....yes, the stock disc brake setup is VERY HEAVY!! I was glad to get rid of it!!

The kit that Aerospace sent to me was actually a kit for the early mustangs....can't remember which years exactly but i'll try to find my invoice and see what year mustang it was....

I like those strut rods, they are really trick looking and i'm sure they helped with weight transfer !! I installed a similar type setup using stock strut rods this past winter, it uses an aircraft spherical bearing that mounts in place of the stock bushing.....

No doubt, your car is sweeeeeet!!!!(y)
