WOW!!! Thanks guys! I pretty sure it doesn't count for much, but, when I ran the flow specs, cam profile, etc. through my computer Dyno, it came back with 397 hp and, I think, 386 ft/lbs of torque :D. My buddy is really curious about what the actual numbers are and said he'd go 50/50 with me for a real dyno test. He told me if the heads are as good as everyone says, he might get a pair.

In the future I wanna back the motor with an AOD (already have it), rollerize the block, and add a little 174 Powercharger. We'll see. Right now, I'm just concerned with starting the motor.

    Thanks again guys!

I don't think that 575cfm carb is gonna feed those AFR's enough.Sound like a killer combo otherwise though.(y)

By the way......HELL YEAH!!!Now get out there and break a little traction.

maverick1970: The software is called Desktop Dyno 2000. Don't know who makes it, though. Works really well as long as you know all your specs. Had to call AFR for some info. on the heads to make the test more accurate.

tim keck: About that carb size: yeah, that's what I thought too. However, I called the guys and they told me that their carbs' actual flow is about 100 cfm more than what they advertise, i.e.- 575 Demon= 675 Holley. The 575 Speed Demon is what they recommended for my setup, so , thought I'd give it a shot. If it doesn't work, they'll be hearing from me!

Woohoo!!!!!! Hell ya!!!! Way to go....Sounds like it's going to be fast. Keep us posted. You might want to think about a heavy duty oil pump shaft & a finer mesh screen on the pump. After rebuilding my 302, I got out in front of the house jumped on it, & the oil light came on. Damn, hate when that happens. Found out a piece of silicone had gone into the oil pump, twisted & broke the shaft. Cost me $17.00 for the stronger shaft. Plus, I installed a finer mesh screen. Haven't had a problem since.

i was thinking the same thing when i saw the 575 carb on there. i had a 650 holley on mine. when i went to the 750hp it really woke up. are you going to take it to firebird or speedworld to see what it will run? good luck with it.(y)

Yeah, I'll probably take it Speedworld after the break-in period b/c it's closer, but, maybe both. I hope to see a 12.80 or better, however, I don't know if this is an accurate goal with my setup, or not. Anyone know if this is feasible? I have to tune the car very carefully the first time because I understand I'll have to get a helmet if they see me run a certain time. I need the car to run great its first time out. Don't really want to go out and blow $300 on a helmet if I don't need to. The car's gonna be used, mostly, for a street machine.

Also, anyone know of suspension kits made for the Maverick? Or, at least, something compatible?

    Thanks!

I think you have the potential with tuning to hit the low 12s. I run 12.40s in mine in street trim. No dropping of the exhaust, street tires etc.... YOu have better heads than I do. I have roush 200s(great buy for the money) Sounds like a real street terror. Been thinking about moving back to phoenix in a few years;) So dont get cocky........lol. :D I am adding a bigger cam this winter and sending my carb out to proffesional tuner. Hoping to be in the high elevens with slicks.
