Can I swap my stock-style dizzy cap for an "HEI" one with the nipples?

That cap looks just about perfect. Won't it work with the stock rotor? I matched the stock one with that NAPA one, and they seemed like the same height, just that the shaft wouldn't fit in it.

What You Need To Do Is Messure The Depth Of The Inside I Have Not Been Able To Have Both Side By Side No Placse Has Both Look At Yours And When You Go To Napa Or Orilleys Messure That One And See If It The Same Then Your Rotor Will Work I Have Not Gave Up Yet I Am Off Work Tomaro I Will Stop At What Parts Stores I Can And See I Wont Be On Puter So Call Me I Will See What I Can Find Out This Is Not Going To Win I Wont Let It I Have Worked In Auto Parts Way To Long To Loose I Will Win

If I had the plug wires already, I would have bought the cap and tried it. I tried to snap one of my wires onto the top, but would have had to crimp it pretty good to make it snap on, and then would have to uncrimp them all if I it didn't work and I had to use my stock cap. Didn't want to mess with the wires like that.

I have to do the steering swap with this paycheck, so maybe I will buy new wires and that cap next payday and test it out...

The high voltage rotor is longer than the old style, has to be 'cause the cap is larger in diameter.

    Who makes it?
SBFs never came with a small male cap in stock form.
Also, I looked up that cap number (c200) on O'Rielly's site and it shows to be for an International engine. Doesn't mention Ford at all.
Please clairify as I am interested, but cannot find anything on it myself.
I must be missing something.

    Thanks
    Dave

Yeah, this cap is exactly the same diameter, and without using a measuring instrument, appears to be the same depth. It snaps right on the stock distributor.

We just aren't sure at this point if the rotor is the right height to hit the center contact.

The one we are talking about that appears to fit is NAPA #AL162. The OReilly C200 was a big cap. The NAPA looks just like the stock cap except for the nipples.

    Looks right.
    That's cool...

I looked it up by part number, but it doesn't say what vehicle it is meant to fit.
