so how much does the carbon fiber hood weight? If i just skin my hood and use hood pins how much can I save in money and weight? That carbon fiber hood would look so cool on my car.

Skin your hood, what, and remove all those giant steel reinforcement I-beams, possibly removing elevendythousand tons, come on its not necessary to do that, besides you have flapping sheet metal. I've always used hood pins at the cowl, and hood locks in front, they mount flat in the hood and look like hood pins, and that is without hinges. My first experience with a Maverick hood was the day I finished my first Mav, I dropped a V-8 into a 6-cyl. car, a 71" mav, regular mav hood with hood locks that I forgot to lock, here take a guess to what happened, on its first road test. I hit the gas broke the tires loose, hit about 40 mph and boom, WOW theres my engine, my dad said the hood went about 50 ft. in the air. Destroyed the hood, tore it all out hinges, nuts and all, just left the square holes. But after all that Maverick hoods don't weigh all that much to be a lift off. Ed :drive:

    yes

this one weighs 26 lbs give or take some ozs very close to CF cowl. you don't want to skin your metal one.

but do a search i think i posted weight on stock hood some where. close to 40 lbs something i think. don't remember

    You have PM!
    Let's do this.

I have my business werehouse that it can be sent to, just have to let the trucking co know to call the day before so I can have a man there all day to receive shipment. Otherwise we are in and out all day.

If you send via a shipper with a local dock, I could just pick it up at the terminal too.
There are terminals here in Pensacola as well as Mobile (Alabama) that I pick up from time to time.

Also, on at least one occasion buying large equipment, I have met the shipper and loaded my trailers from his in a parking lot convienent to both of us.

See what you need to do, and let me know!
    Money is waiting.

    Dave

    I can't contain myself!!! :D

I was just given a brand new 2 row radiator today out of the blue as well!

I can't wait to drive her again a little, and with a new hood too!

She doesn't have air, and it will be cool enough here soon to be without, so it's coming together just right.

Who knows, maybe I can drive it to Moultre????
