Also, the greater surface area of a serp belt allows for less belt tension, which reduces bearing friction which provides an HP advantage and extends the life of the accessories, AND I've read that a belt tensioner, when used, reduced harmonic oscillation in the belt. All new vehicles (maybe not all) are equipped with serp belts so ... must be the better design.
It all sounds logical. Guess you have to balance that with practical and affordable. There's something for everybody.
Anyone running serp belt with alt, ac, water pump and crank? I would like to the set-up no using the March or simulier system. Rick
