Hey im startin to have a problem with my 70 maverick. when you press down on the clutch lever it wont engage untill about an inch from the floor and then shifting into gear is a struggle and sometimes near impossible . if anyone has any ideas on what might be wrong or how to fix it i would appreciate your thoughts on it. thanks

There is a threadded rod that connects between the clutch fork and the linkage.you have to adjust this rod by turning it in or out depending on what you need to get proper pedal feel/operation.You want to have 3/4 to 1 inch of free play from the top of the pedals travel before it begins to disengage the clutch. Also you may be approaching that time when you need to install a new clutch if the adjustment is that far out.Or you may have a bent/cracked clutch equalizer bar.Good luck!!!
