Dont get me wrong. Im glad I did it. Its a fantastic suspension and totally worth it. It would not be any big deal for soemone experienced in fabricating and has the room and tools to do it. I expected this to be mostly bolt on. But it turned out that I had to modify every piece of it in order to keep it bolt on. Therefore, I essentially just bought an overpriced pile of steel and hardware to build the system from. I could either cut it up and weld it in or cut it up, weld it back together, then bolt it in. I did the later. I would have been better off cost wise starting from scratch and just welding it in.

Chris this is the problem with kits that are "suppose to be close to fitting". In all reality they don't hence all the issues I'm having with the Cortex stuff. In the end almost every piece will have to be modified to work. Is it a lot of work yes, will it be worth it in the end, dam straight it will be. You car is a classic example of what hard work and thinking out of the box can achieve. So until a Maverick/Comet specific kit is developed be prepared to be and engineer and a fabricator.

I am in the process to start getting things ready for my 4 link...

What information do you have? :D
    What are the recommended calculations?
    pics/info?
    Hrmm.. That looks simple :)

do you think they'll sell portions of that? The arms are going to have to be difference sizes. 2-3 pieces of that entire set... the rest would have to be custom..

So, I called Detroit Speed shop today to inquire about the rear 4 link setup to see if they would sell pieces of their setup in hopes that I could get the basic pieces needed to make a 4 link setup for the ford maverick. They are not willing to sell pieces. The only thing they are willing to sell individually are the torque boxes. I tried to reason with him and let him know that we as a community would probably buy quite a few if we could get them to work with our application.

    No go :(

Unless we as a community would be interested in pitching in the money to get a 'kit' to have it re-engineered to work with the mavericks I doubt we will ever see the light of day.

I was hoping they would sell me just the bracket that is on the rear axel housing, and the piece that comes out =====/ (<=-- like that) from the end of the sub frame connector and I could have my families company re-engineer it to work with us then we could pick up pivoting arms that would fit.

Ive been trying to obtain some pictures of the piece in hopes I could get a few pieces punched out on the laser table to "mock" up.

Maybe another member here would be able to contact them and show a heavy interest in the item(s) that we need.

    /me failed

We run into the same thing here at Pypes when people call and want odd applications or parts. Without a volume purchase you will never peak the interest of a major manufacture to invest in the development time and upfront cost it takes to bring a new part to market.

With that said if you approach them with "I'd like you to private label a kit for the Maverick market, what is the volume I need to purchase and how much would the prototype cost." I'm sure you would be talking to different audience. The line “everybody would buy it” never makes good business sense from a manufactures standpoint given the narrow scope of the application and lack of sales.
