That's early to mid 80's Fox Body Mustang for sure. My dad's '84 GT had one just like that.

I stand corrected. F-bodies had one like that in some of the q-jet cars, and called the 305 a "5.0 liter HO" for a couple of years.

I know next to nothing about Fox bodies...

the base is from a 81 mercury gran marquis(302 2v), the top lid is from a 85 mustang 5.0 4v and the pasenger side snorkel is the original six cylinder air cleaner adapted to the marquis base... I have a original 84/87 camaro H.O. and an original mustang H.O. dual snorkel air cleaners, but this configuration fits better. I also have the L6 fresh air duct and it fits perfect... I just need to come up with the drivers side ducting and make look OEM... on a side note... did some track testing with this air cleaner at the track... 3 runs no air cleaner and 3 runs with the airfilter cleaner and the results were the same !!!! no lost of performance !!!!

i think it depends on the engine setup...

w/600 Holley mine made no diff.
w/750 Holley there was 7HP diff.

    these were...Dyno pulls...

engine set up is the main reason that I run consistent numbers at the track... BTW this is my combo on my 76 maverick ;stock 92 roller block, e-cam and matching valve train components, eldel. rpm intake, holley 600VS, 6901 headers, 3" pipes with X-crossover, 3" SS magnaflows, stock c4, B&M converter(2000 stall), 3.80 trak loc LSD... and hybrid 81 marquis air filter housing which is aluminum and the HO lid is also... I also tried a holley 750VS and it felt and sounded stronger but it run the same et and got less gas mileage so I put the hlly 600 back... BUT this baby is going in very soon !!!! 347 all forged internals ...
