Thread served a different purpose

I started this thread to encourage some way to recognize positive contributors to the Forum, thinking that those positive examples might help reduce some of the angry insults that fly on occasion. That idea went over like a fart in an elevator but the thread has been interesting to me for the discussions on what members like and don't like and why members are here. Maybe its useful when threads wander a little. I've learned some things from this one.

 

I'm not sure it was THAT bad.
In my earlier post, I wasn't disagreeing with why you started this thread. It's obvious that this board is changing and some of it is not for the better. I know the moderators work at keeping the peace, but I imagine it gets hard with the increased volume. The question is still: How can the negative changes be managed while still keeping the boards informative, fun, and non-fascist? I trust Stefan will make a good decision.

 

I havent seen a negative contributor to the forum yet(well, a few...lol), nearly everyones positive, we have arguments here and there, but we're in a car forum with a bunch of guys, we have a lot less arguments then I thought we'd have...lol

The guys who hasn't been in the game long(such as me) cannot contribute nowhere near as much as people such as yourself or the others whose been in this game for 20+ years, but we're learning, and when we get the chance to apply that knowledge that we've read to help someone else thats where the positive influence from other members starts to show.(I know this wasnt what you intended by your post, figured Id add it anyways)

I very rarely ever see insults flying around here, except from the younger crowd, but thats expected...one exception off the top of my head was a long-time member here who made a post the other day calling someone here out for no reason whatsoever,..posts like that will drive members away and that shouldnt be encouraged...I stayed out of that post, because although the OP has some slip ups sometimes, Ive noticed he is learning quite a bit from you guys.

A insult returns an insult, when that happen people have enemies, and this forum doesnt need either. We need to do something before this gets too far out of hand to handle.

 

Sometimes it drags over from a different thread so it seems like it came from nowhere. Just sayin.

 

I must have missed that one...I try to read every thread...sorry, I didnt intend any insult by it, thats why I didnt give any names, so the people who hadnt read the thread yet has no idea what Im talking about.

Ive lost no respect for you guys, you all have helped me out a lot and Ive learned a lot of valuable information and tips/tricks of the trade, so if anything I owe you guys. :Handshake

 

I said I was just sayin cause it could happen. I have seen it before but not in the recent that I can remember or want to remember.
And as for the thread your talking about, i'm not sure which one it is and it's not that important, unless they were flaming Comets, then I would need to have links and names
