I did a 302 swap in to my 1974 maverick and also went to a 3 core alum radiator with an electric fan (2300cfm) it get to 200 and is ok if I am going 50+mph but if a go slower it has gotten up to 240! The system hold the pressure and I have no oil in the water or ves-versa. any ideas? regesitered for Reno's Hot AUgust Nights, can't cruz like this.

is the fan in front or behind the radiator?
what is your timing set at idle? 2000 rpm? 3000rpm?
do you have your vacuum advance hooked up?
what water pump are you using?
    what pulleys are you using?

Ok, I got this one under control now. Changed out the 195 (not sure how that got in there) thermostat to a 180 and tossed the electric fan for a Auto Zone Flex fan for 30 bucks and modified the stock shroud. Runs 180 to 190 when it is 95 degrees outside. Happy HAN cruizer!
