    Cool!
    18.5, huh?
That's what the family wagon did on the way to the beach-loaded with 6 folks and beach armour.

I don't want to know what the Comet gets per gallon. I know it is only 100-125 miles per tank cruising around.

This past weekend I decided to replace the fuel pump. Looked kind of old, wasn't sure exactly how old it was, so better to be safe than sorry. It wouldn't be fun to lose a fuel pump on the PA turnpike!! Plus.....it is cheap insurance. :D

O.K.....this weekend I replaced the swap bar bushings. Previous owner had already replaced the sway bar links. Man....was the originals worn out!! Sway bar was riding on the frame. I had some pictures....but the camera decided to delete them.

Getting close to "Hittin' the road time"!!!

Well...on Sunday I decided to tackle a small problem. Ever since I rebuilt the carb, it would not start without a shot of starter fluid. Thanks to Paul on this message board we got it narrowed down to the accelorator pump not working correctly. The kit included an extra part that I did not need. Once I removed it...it worked great. So that problem is fixed. Thanks again Paul. (y)

My next problem to fix is the Air Conditioning. It works great, and worked great on my trip to the MCCI Michigan Mini-Meet, but now it has developed a knock. Not a tick...but a KNOCK. I took it to the AC guy tonight and he added some oil to it. It made it better....but now it is a very light tick. My opinion: the compressor is getting ready to take a puke. If that happens...it will wipe out the new dryer and condensor I just installed and spent $$$ on. I don't want that to happen, so I had the AC guy order my a Sanden compressor to put on it instead. It will take 4 or 5 days to get it in, and then we have to install it. I leave two weeks from tomorrow. Nothing like thrashing at the last minute!!

LOL...I love thrashing!!! If I was able to make it this year I'd certainly be doing some thrashing. Don't know what it would be but I'd find something. Good luck with it Craig. (y)

Those old compressors draw something like 21 HP to spin them, the Sanden only uses about 6 HP, so you should notice a difference from that old clunker. As for the fuel pump, my car ran good for about 20 minutes yesterday with the Edelbrock pump, but today it wouldn't pump, so off it came and a Carter replaced it.

50 lbs. switching to the ...non A/C bracket...:yup:
could also see a 1" lift in the front stance of the car...:D

    ...I leave 1 week from tomorrow....
still have to...wash and vac. the car...:whew:

I just want to chime in to this thread. I live fairly close by, and will try to attend some of these events at the Roundup. I am new to the Maverick scene, and may not have my car running by then, but are non-members welcome? I would like to join MCCI soon after I move next month and get situated in NC. I am just hoping to meet some of you folks and enjoy seeing all of the cars. Thanks

    Tommy
