Just a LITTLE HINT, hit the caps lock again and it will turn off. :)

    sg70mav,

The motor was full of antifreeze. The only fatality was the water pump, which has at least a 1/4" of rust built up inside it. Fortunately, I removed it and the thermostat and flushed the system so there has been no problem so far. Prior to starting it, I had turned over the engine by hand several times and changed the oil and added Lucas oil additive to it. I had a similiar experience with a 351 with no problems, either.

    maverickcoutlaw,

Where did you finally get your drivetrain? 302? Good luck with it.

I have been itchin' to get back to work in the shop, but my three year old grandson and his parents are staying for Christmas week so we ...

    1) got to open presents ... mine included all kinds of stuff that I needed to go along with the MIG welder I am going to have to learn how to use. (Thanks for the tips on the board here guys ... a BIG source of info that has lead me to this purchase and leap of faith to start using it)

2)... I have been cooking some huge pieces of meat this week. 9 pound standing rib roast on Christmas, smoked 2 huge racks of pork ribs a few days ago, a pile of steaks for tonight ... I'm trying to enjoy the benefits of having to take cholesterol medicine ... :D

    3) ... I have been to the beach more in 1 week than I have in two years otherwise.

    4) ... been to more parks with swingsets and jungle gyms trying to run this little guy's energy level down. We all have been sleeping really well ...

    5) ...Really enjoying having the family stay with us! :thumbs2:

... but still ... the garage beckons ...

Have a GREAT holiday season, guys!
