PHR sucks. They can't even get the year/model right when describing GM stuff. The article on Lonnies ex-Mav is the only reason I've bought a PHR in years. And I like that Mav/Coms fly under the radar when it comes to popularity/mag coverage.Keeps cost down so I can afford one.:D

Send in to Car Craft...we all seem to agree that it is the best of the three I mentioned. But PHR is just shy of crap.

Not sure if any of you remember, but a couple years ago, they got a new editor, i guess, and all of a sudden the engines all had a bluish tint photoshopped onto them. I actually wrote a letter to the editor saying "engines are pretty in their own right, they don't need a crappy blue tint added to make them look nice!" about 2 months later, no more blue tint.

Not sure if it was my letter or if several people complained, but you don't see that blue crap anymore.

My favorite response was "Who made the Maverick?" Then there was my bro-in-law who told people I was redoing a Charger.

I picked up a PHR ~4 months ago and read that they were doing a readers rides. they said that they would take project cars, with idea drawings and modification lists. While i do have a powerpoint showing all of my intentions with mod-lists, part numbers, and drawings, i was too lazy to send it in. and i haven't done much to my car yet, just spent money on parts (brakes, swap parts, 5lug rear, interior, but no work)

part of me also wants to keep the maverick a secret to the masses until i get mine finished. i figure it will help keep prices low, one of the lesser reasons i love the mavericks.

I prefer the 79-86 as well. Those early GT cars looked mean. 86 is my favourite with the cockpit style dash. The early Capri's are nice as well. I like the front end with square sealed beams over the big plastic headlamps.
