like mntony said was 111 here yesterday. but that's nothing because tomorrow we'll be at the asphalt jungle called firebird raceway in phoenix enjoying what we like best and sweating our a$$e$ off.
It has been a very bad week to be a powder coater. Having a 410 degree oven (that I have to load and unload every 30 minutes) running in a shop all day where three other guys are welding all day is not any fun. It has been so hot, when you turn the cold water on in the shop, HOT water comes out... Not to mention this is Georgia, so of course it is humid, and we had a code red smog alert today. We had fans running everywhere, but they really don't do much good when they are just moving hot air around. It got so bad this afternoon, we finally just said hell with it, shut everything off at 3:30 and went home... I turned the A/C way down, turned the ceiling fan on high, and passed out on the couch when I got home.
Back home in Maryland it has been 98 degrees and 98 % humidity, But I am currently in Mechanicsburg PA and the weather is great. There's a very nice breeze blowing and It's prolly just below 70 outside right now.
Heat Living in FL, we are used to 105 heat factors for four consecutive months. Cools down to a sticky 80 degrees here at night. Kinda' like you don't want to go outside for long during the the winter up north. I know a lot of the country is going through terrible heat. Due to putting up with winters, northern guy's blood is thicker too, so it has to feel terrible. You have my sympathy, but at least you guys do get a break from the heat. Hoping it comes soon. I have never had a problem starting my Comet when it is hot. When the temp gets below 50 here is when I have a hard time starting it. No choke, had it milled off of the carb.
How hot is it??? I've had our water heater turned to warm for the last three months! Not only that, my washing machine with automatic temperature control cannot figure out that the hot water coming out of the cold water tap is the cold water! Out here you have to let the water run in the summer to cool it off before getting in. I was welding a while back at 10 pm...went to cool the part off with the hose, but couldn't hold the nozzle because the water flowing through it was so hot. Welcome back to Arizona Tony...I wonder why I ever left??? Hey Don, the $$$ about racing were right on! LOL Hey, we are up to number 10 now! And looking to better that tonight. See ya there!
