That's pretty typical. They usually get an application guide from the MFG, and the MFG will list as many possibilities as they can. Then the website will punch it into a template, and presto, custom Mav exhaust. It costs a little more, but a good custom guy is the way to go, IMO.
not even close... original maverick exhuast the muffler was round muffler that mounted next to the gas tank all the way in the rear with a little short endpipe that stuck out below the rear valence/gravelshield
i've seen those on pre-cat mavs, but ive also seen a 75 and 76 cars at the junkyard with the same exhaust as mine had
My Dad's 72 bought in Maryland in 1972 originally had the round muffler back by the tank and had a resonator of some sort up near the middle of the car. After the first time it needed replacing the resonator went bye- bye.
Yea, it probably is a resonator. It's weird though, my '73 had the same drivetrain and only had the one round muffler.

Not a good pic, hey, I cant even post a good pic of my own! Thinking about cutting hole in roof of Maverick behind front seat an putting this stack in. Questions is,,on the 170 ci, will I need 1 or dual stacks??? Sorry on the hi jack,,,by the way,,,who is this jack we all keep saying hi too?
