Well, I don't really know if I did or not. I line up the holes so that they would all plug in? Was I suppose to leave some not pluged in?
I am looking for one of these valves. Mine is broken and the disk that rotates is missing. So far I have only found 1 and it is $75 which is out of My price range by a long shot! I was wondering if anyone had one that is broken but all of the parts are there ? I am a disabled tool & die machinist and I am pretty sure I can make something to fix this with if I had all of the parts ! I would be willing to pay a reasonable price for one or if you have 2 I would fix one for you as payment for the other! Thanks ! George Hunt
OK Hear is 2 pics of what I have, the piece missing from mine goes on the side with the black streaks .
If you can find a good one for $75...that is not a bad price. The plastic valves are very hard to find.
Something I forgot to mention, I am not using the AC if I had a non AC heater box I would change it out. Is there any way to use the heater controls for a non AC on an AC box?
A little background on Me and My Maverick. I am a 50 year old disabled Machinist, welder ,mechanic . The last 6 years I was able to work I was a tool & die machinist at a die cast plant . I have been disabled for 9 years now and live on a very low fixed income. I got sick of trying to keep worn out computer controlled vehicles going so I decided to get something I could work on a little easier. A friend found the maverick for Me and loaned Me the money to buy it and lets Me make payments to him for it. The motor was tired and the car had been parked for 6 years but I went over it and decided to drive it home instead of towing it. I made it about 390 miles of the 400 mile trip and the motor laid down on Me. (burnt piston) That was a year ago, I have the motor almost ready to go back in now. It has taken Me so long because I had to buy rebuild parts as I could each month. Along the way I have also managed to buy a new gas tank, sending unit and electric fuel pump for it . I have removed the instrument cluster and repaired it and replaced all bulbs with led's . I was hoping to replace the AC vacuum control valve while I have the dash apart but it looks like I will be stuck on defrost for a while !
If anyone has the piece I am missing I would be willing to buy just that piece, or if You want to keep it could You take and post a good closeup picture of the side with the passages . If I had something to go buy I could make the whole part. Thanks again for any help!! George Hunt
