i just cut and spliced all that crap out. worked great after that. had fun snakeing the wire down to the transmission, but it worked, all plugged in. fun part is stripping down the wired and retaping the loom.
I'm pulling the eng and trans back out for easier access. but i know what your talking about i'm using heat shrink conectors with solder and it makes a nice weather resitance connection!
i wouldn't pull out the engine and trans. what a pain to get that back in i dropped the trans x member to make it easier to get the wires back. took me 10 minutes to get the wires back.
here's some pics of my car, almost the same setup. Motor is from a 2000 exploder and i have a t5. looks a bit ugly in the pics since i have wires and whatnot everywhere and i now have a big puller fan not the pusher ill have to take some new pics now that its all cleaned up. if you have any questions pm me
Pulling the engine and trans out of a Maverick isn't that bad compaird to some of what i do in the field! just got through changing the engine on a newer model Audi A6 THAT was a PAIN!:Handshake And building the car is most of the fun for me!

well, giving up on the eec-v conversion, ending up to be too much of a pain in the butt. just purchased the FAST ezefi MPFI retrofit kit and the ford sensor pack. also going to pick up the baumann tcu to run the 4r70w. removed the older ford ecu and wiring harness. installed most of the fast harness already. much easier thats for sure.
