I can't talk for anyone else but I for one don't know. I have heard that AFR's are good and as are Edelbrock. Sounds like personal preferance. Got a friend that runs AFR 205's on a fox body racer and my uncle has edelbrocks on his 302 in his camero. They both look good and run good but this is apples and oranges. I would have to say that another point to look at is are you going to go any further with the motor or is that all? If your going to build it up later for more power then that should also be taken into consideration because better flowing heads will help later. But if your desperate for an answer from someone then I'd go with AFR's.

I am building mine to the AFR specs for 421 horse and leaving it. Got bigger and better projects after this one. I have a '71 and a 5.4 mod motor with its name on it and a '72 torino with a 460 waiting.

There are a few mustangs here that are daily drivers & 3 of them have Edelbrocks on them. I dont know if its because of the price or what but these guys have some serious miles on them. I have 300 hp on iron GT40 heads an a non roller cam & 600 holley. I was told that aftermarket heads with no port work would only get 40 to 50hp more and if I did got with another head than I would also need a bigger cam to match the heads. The cam specs were very big for a street car to me. The guys told me aftermarket heads need more then 230 duration & over .550 lifts to get the full benefits of the heads. I also think AFR's does better with larger cams.

streetrod what intake are you using? i think i might just go with the performer rpm heads and i still dont know if i should use the victor or the performer after reading that article and from seeing what other people are using 750 dp seems to be too much carb i dont know though this is my first build...

Edelbrock Air Gap, you just really want everything to work well in what ever combo you come up with. I have already got a retrofit roller cam & roller lifters. I'm going to get a 650 Demon carb or a 750HP Holley & shorty headers. Do some port work on what I have and hope that will get me close to the 400hp range. I still have other parts of the car to finish up.
