Engine "Thumping"

    I went to a radical cam and had to have my push rods changed and valve springs shimed and stuff. Funny that I think MY #8 has pulled out slightly.

    Man, you can post a pic of one of the studs and we can tell you if it is positive stop or not.

    I see on your other post about cracked frame that you got the motor to run right, what was the cure?

    Forgot about this thread. Yes, I got it running. When I pulled the valve cover, the exhaust rocker on the #6 cylinder had jumped off its seat. I torqued down all the rockers on the driver's side bank (the passenger's side has been fine) to 18lb, and it wouldn't run right at all. After about 30min of trial and error tightening/loosening it was running smooth again. Not necessarily a permanent fix, but it's running correctly now. Without any exhaust, its difficult to do fine tuning, since I can't hear anything. I still need to learn more about rocker adjustment, so I've got some studying to do.
