Because that's what you'll get with either of those two muffler choices: more noise and more headaches if you drive it enough. A single straight 3-3.5 inch pipe will sound better than those two mufflers, run out the sides ahead of the rear wheels.

As also stated....it is just plain noisy. You will have a "drone" type noise. I have had 6 cyls with glass packs, turbo mufflers, no muffler at all, etc. Kind of a novelty at first....but after awhile too much darn noise. Eventually I switched to a standard, quite muffler and was much happier.

I think you will also want an over the axle pipe. That will cut down on the noise as well.

I'd try it then decide what you like. Glasspacks and Cherrybombs have never been known to be a pleasant sounding muffler. And they've been around for 50 years now. And the sound gets worse as they age. Now glasspacks ? the longer they are, the quieter they are, but as I said above, the sound changes as they age.

well ill start with the x pipe on to larger 3'' pipes and see if I like it. figured I'd start cheap and not waste money on something I might not like. thanks for the help guys!

If you're going to do duals, then do it with dual 2 to 2.5" pipe along with the X

gotcha ok. my other question is do I have to have a certain or ballpark length of pipe before the "X" and after it or does it not make a lot of difference?

That's a 64 million dollar question. Put it where it fits, as close to the collectors as you can, only running it on a dyno and changing locations would you actually find where one location would be better than another.
