Fill it up at the P/S pump reservoir, start the engine and turn the wheel back and forth a couple of times, check the fluid and repeat until the pump whine subsides and you have full power assist, check the fluid level and top off or remove fluid as necessary
So I've successfully completed my first power steering line swap! Between changing brakes and swapping lines, I think I'm now experienced enough to swap and engine haha. Thanks for all your help folks!
Awesome!! Did you remove that hose clamp? There is usually a screw that holds the cover over the stud on, maybe it broke...or the clamp was just easier..
I have seen a hose clamp on virtually every Maverick I have ever owned. It is there to hold the metal supply lines in place against the center link.
