Pictures from the teardown and Old Town

    Hi all,

Lil and I had "the best day" yesterday. It was a blast.

Got some pics sized down that we wanted to share.

Please note ... this whole thing went down in a very nice deed-restricted neighborhood ... LOL. Jason's neighbors were pretty cool with it. It helps that he warned them in advance.

    Pics from Old Town

After we had our fill of baby pterydactyl wings and pizza, and Dana's cookies, we got cleaned up and headed off to the Old Town cruise.

We had our own section. :thumbs2:

I loved this 66 Comet Voyager wagon. No third seat. Less than 50K original miles. It had the coolest Mercury Man windshield washer tank.

Most of the gang, (some had wandered off at this point) and Lil was snapping the picture.

    ..."total recoil"...

had my coil take a dump on the way down. called NAPA and the lady delivered me a new stock one...$19.39 and we were on our way...:Handshake

i had stopped for gas and when i got ready to leave, fired it up and drove about 3 feet and it shut off. :hmmm: did a little troubleshooting and came up that it was the coil...any suggestions as to a replacement...

Aren't you using a Pertronix ignition? Use a Pertronix Coil ... that is what I am using ...

Ah, Arnold in a dress...those were the days!

Dang work, yeah it does get in the way of life at times, but I sure like that the paycheck gets here every two weeks, ontime, direct deposit, now if I could figure out a way to telecommute and have no measurable goals or production standards to meet!

    Frank,

What kind of ignition are you running?

When I changed to a Pertronix, I seem to remember that the stock wire going to the points was restricted (to keep the points from burning up). Rewiring was necessary so that full voltage got to the distributor.

Then it was suggested that I put a Mopar-style resistor in line when I added a big yellow Accel coil. I later ditched that and the resistor and got the Pertronix coil, too.

I am telling you all this, hoping there might be a lead in it for you.

I am currently running the Pertonix II in the stock distributor and the Pertronix II .6 ohm coil. I am interested in the info you put out on the lead to the distributor or is that the coil lead? I changed nothing other than the factory terminals to my stock coil.

Probably a moot point since I have bought an HEI style distributor, just have not had a chance to put it in. I tried to, but when I pulled the first one out of the box, it was for an Olds V8. No way, no how will that fit in a SBF.
