The parking brake mechanism sucks and is not easily adaptable to the Maverick. Those brakes are hard to find parts for if needed. There are better alternatives for rear discs on a Maverick, so there's no reason not to take advantage of them.

Agreed, that there are better alternatives nowadays, but if he can find the Versailles discs for cheap then there is no reason not to get them. I easily found the parts I needed for the front and rear Versailles discs about 2 years ago. I was surprised because I heard people say that the parts were hard to find.

I have a Versailles 9 inch in my 69.5 still at stock length - I used a disc brake bracket kit and rotors that I got from Speedway that uses GM Metric front calipers - my wife asked me what was in the box when my Hurst Line Lock arrived in the mail - I told her that was the parking brake - all she said was Oh OK :biglaugh:

While all this information is nice and has been discussed in other threads, original post the member was asking about FRONT spindles for disc brakes...........
