thats what i thought! i dont think theres a body piece on it thats salvagable. everything either has a dent or is rusted out. but man, when that tire spun on the dry pavement i knew i wanted it.

Hey that looks a lot nicer than the 73 Comet GT I bought today( #49 ) and yours runs and drives. :idea:I could fix you up with some good parts and you could have 2 cars. :p

Who did you take the test drive with, mom or dad. I can just hear it now Mattttt okay thats enough of that.

took it out with my dad. we were out in the backroads of snohomish by all the farms. but i wasnt the only one that wanted to make sure all the gears shifted good. my dad had to try it for himself too! :biglaugh: plus he had a HUGE gravel parking lot in his backyard :dancing:
-i'm assuming its just the C4 tranny like all the other mav's but would it have to be rebuilt before i put a shift kit into it?

and congrats on number 49!!! one more to go til 50!!!!!

It would probably be best to rebuild it first but I would just drive it until it dies and save some money cause rebuilding a tranny is not cheap, luckily PaulS is close to you and he can rebuild you a top notch tranny, the tranny in the car you have now is the same as the one in the Comet so you will have one that can be rebuilt and ready to be put in when time comes.

I could bring you up a 302 that you could build a monster 347 stroker motor, but you are going to have to mow a lot of lawns and clean up after a lot of welders to afford it. Maybe you need to learn how to weld and work in the shop, that would be cool.

hah!... you're not kidding... I enlarged that first pic... trim, bezels, fenders, hood... amazing - EVERYTHING is bent!

Those hubcaps look like something I saw in a James Bond movie... :16suspect

How bad are the rust-throughs? Dents can be knocked back out ... from what I can see, that car looks like it could be brought back.

    Floors and cowl OK?

Those hubcaps look like they are off a 1966 Mustang.

With the exception of the seat, the interior is really nice.

Not a bad deal and you can probably sell those 66 Mustang spinner hubcaps for a $100-$200 on ebay. - Matt
