Almost forgot about the intake/carb combo.
I went with a Weiand action plus and a Edelbrock 600 w/ elec choke.
There are a lot of possible combos out there, I would say stick with a good dual plane manifold ie. Weiand, Edelbrock, Holley etc... And a good 600cfm carb. I like Edelbrocks because I've never had a problem with them right out the box, some like holley's my buddy says they have a quicker throttle response on his truck, but he always has tuning issues that i have never experienced. I think Holley will produce more power in the upper RPM range if tuned correctly, but out of the box Edelbrocks suit my needs just fine.

You'd have to get a hardened? gear to use it in a roller motor. I used Hooker headers and will be installing a set of Mac Flowpath mufflers dumping them right at the axle. The clip is with open headers for now. I have a Hurst Promatic shifter on the floor. I converted from column due to header clearance issues, also went manual steering.

I also wanted a mild setup, that would be fun and not to killer on gas. So i bought a used 302 block out of a 68 Cougar and had it punched out .30 over, added a 351W Police HD cam, and picked up a set of E7's. I knocked the thermactor/smog humps down and had to get pushrods from a non HO motor to make the valve train work. The engine runs smooth and revs pretty quick, but I still have room to go back and maybe do a little stronger cam, 1.7 rockers, and some aftermarket heads for some extra power. Who knows though, tearing into engines is always a PITA unless you get off on that type of thing.LOL

I would suggest doing what you want to do to the engine before dropping it in, as cam swaps, etc.. are not that fun to do after the engine is in the car. Doiable for sure, but just not fun.

Hey no problem Hale, I ask a lot of questions too, and people take the time for me, so I try to pay it forward when I can.

They are slid on and then held there with a countersunk allen screw on both sides.
I'm leaving work headed home now. I'll be there in about 10mins, so I'll be away from the post for a few minutes.
