front disc brakes

    70 to 74 Maverick Outer tie rod ends = ES387R Moog part number
    75 to 77 Maverick Outer tie rod ends = ES445RL Moog Part number

    The difference is the angle of the taper of the tie rod stud. Change to the later model tie rod ends to avoid extreme stess on a very small part of the tie rod stud if your spindles are 75 to 77.

    I don't agree.
    Maybe it would make the brakes overkill, but is that a bad thing?
    Many small cars have 4 wheel DB today.

    The main reason I advocate rear discs is the pure ease of maintainance.
    I CAN'T STAND servicing drum brakes. Disc brake service is almost a pleasure!
    That is why I personally would want 4wdb.

    Thats weird, I put 75 spindles on my 73 and I checked the hole for the tie rod, and they were the same?

    The tapered bolt is the same diameter and length. The difference is the amount that the bolt tapers. The angle is different. If you take a bolt with a 10 degree taper and insert it into a hole with a 15 degree taper, you will have only a very small area where the pieces actually touch. This causes you to have all the stress placed on that part concentrated in that one small area.

    While you can bolt these parts together, and they will work for a while, it is a level of risk that I would not accept for people I care about.

    These parts might never break.....but if they do, you are talking about total lose of steering control. In my opinion, the risk far out weighs the cost savings.
