Don, where do you race in AZ? I was golfing there a few weeks ago and hearing a track all day long just outside of PHX. I think it was Firebird..I spend a lot of time ion the Tempe area for work. Scott

I race at firebird. I've cut back a bit this year. The et finals are in Fallon, Nevada and I'm not going to tow all the way up there. I live about 42 miles south of Firebird. :)

Terry, Being a friend of mine (I think), I don't want to call you a liar. BUT From my experiences kids can't be trained. And I can't afford to feed any more of them.:rofl2:

I suppose I got lucky. When I landed the sponsorship with Team Performance we had originally agreed to split travel costs. However, their transportation department has been hauling the car all over the place for me. I just fly in and race the car then fly home. It is a bit difficult not having my brand new car at home most of the time but that butt-ugly Escort is sure getting some miles. Although....I'm seriously looking at a couple of motorcycles right now.

Don, we are friends, but it looks like I've been caught.

You are right, kids can eat you out of house and home and training them is almost impossible.
What can I say, I just lookin to get rid of a few more.

Kathy and I are now down to 2, we started with 6.
I think I'll be able to go back racing after these two find a new home... I miss racing!

Don, get some win lights for me, wait just get some win lights.

It hasnt limited my travel so much, but more limited working on the mustang.

I sold my Honda Civic 1.5 5 speed friday... the clutch had went out some months ago and I never got around to fixing it. The 24v Taurus runs great and does good on gas, so I just drive it. I basically gave the Civic away... to the right person that wanted to do a clutch themselfs. It had all new tires, and CV axles, just needed a clutch. A guy bought it sight unseen for $300 cash money. He was happy, and it was out of my hair.

Im going to pick up a 90ish Suzuki 1500 cruiser sometime soon hopefully. One of my cop friends knows a guy that got it, dumped it at 15mph and broke the handle bar and the peg and a mirror... No tank damage at all. Said I can proboally have it for free or a few hundred bucks. This will let me go back and forth to work all summer on about a tank of gas. I only drive 2 miles round trip to and from work, so I can go quite a few days on a tank!

As far as gas prices go...to be honest with you, I dont even look at them anymore, and havent in a long time. When I need gas I fill it up. It just pisses ya off to look at it everyday, so when I get paid I put money back for gas. I fill the car up about once a month, sometimes twice and I know I need gas so I just get it. No reason in bitching about it, as it does me no good.

The reason for the bike is cuz its cheap to fix, fun to ride and it is cheap on gas but thats just an added benefit.

I havent went to the races this year, but had lots on my mind and going for me. now that the wife is making money again, its all extra so after we get the kids birthdays out of the way... we will be taking a much needed vacation and will most likely be going out of state on a long drive.

So to answer the question... no the price of gas hasnt really stopped me on anything
