:rofl2:don't know if i can afford to put such a hi-tech system on my car. What happens when you come to a sudden stop? sure it would swing out away from the car, but i'd get tired of replacing my fender/headlight. not to mention what it would do to radio reception.

That really looks like it would get in the way of working on the engine from the side... how would you change the spark plugs ect...:16suspect

It does look that way, yes, and I expected it might get in the way, but it hasn't. The rods are very easy to pop loose at the top and drop out of the way. One side can hold the hood up if need be, and I haven't taken off my original prop rod if it comes to that. But I haven't had to move them. I've even pulled the battery and changed valve cover gaskets without difficulty. Granted I haven't changed the spark plugs in over a year, but that job would suck no matter what.

Really, they haven't bothered me once, and the prop rod has bothered me many times. It's probably not for everybody though.

There are a few kits out for the new Mustangs to eliminate their prop rods.

A couple of them face the strut in a way that is very much out-of-the-way ...

I think my only gripe would be that I couldn't access the engine compartment from the side. I like leaning over my fender so perhaps those rods would limit me. Just a though.

Got my struts on today and they work great!!! Holds the hood good and firm upright and closes very nice. Pop the hood open and raise it till the struts take over, cool. It also raises the opening height by 4 inches, so I shouldn't be bonking my head on the latch!!! I used struts from a early 2000's Taurus, will try and post pics soon as I can.

That is the main reason I did mine. I'm just the perfect height to get scalped by that latch every time when using the prop rod...
