any time I want. I have 235/50/17s on the back of my car so it is a taller tire than stock. I rev at 2600 ish (best guess) at 60 mph and that is where my motor likes to make power. passing is not an issue :drive: I do own a minivan to haul the kids around so it sees far more freeway time than the mav, but with 380s freeways are very driveable.

    is this your only car?

ebay is the best place, theres a guy who sells trac lok units with your choice of gears for a very fair price.

and they come set up already, so all you need to do is bolt it in.

if all you want are the gears order them from jegs/summit.

would rather have true track.so both aren't turning all the time.had a sister of an old girlfriend of mine died because some a$$ welded the rearend for full time lock and she hit some bad road and bothh wheels kept turning and pushed her sideways when she wouldn't have.she hit a car and it drove the column shift right into her sisters temple and she died in her lap. bad story but lessoned learned. you remember the name of the guy you bought the true track from on ebay? thanks....matt

there is a difference between a trutrac and a tracloc. the final results are basically the same but done by different processes. im not sure if a trutrac is made for the 8" yet. my shop could sell you the gears and lsd (limited slip device) but there is no way we can compete with the e-bay sellers. those guys are not making very much money there parts and labor. they must not have any overhead to pay for.

    it's this guy:

You basically just pay for the parts, seeing as a new Trac Lok goes for $450, new gears are about $200, rebuilt kit $100, core $100.

The last quote I got to rebuild a rear end was $200 and that was with me buying all the parts and providing the core.

So it would cost over a grand to have a local shop rebuilt one for me to these specs.
