I don't think she is too much into the maverick thing. She loves those little european deals. I think an old 6 cyl mav would be awesome for her. What about those mini coopers?

my first car was a pinto. it was a love hate relation ship. its actually what got me into being a mechanic. the car aways had oil leaks, and those leaks always caused other problems. i could change the timeing belt in 20 min. i cut that car up in the end threw it away in a dumpster. so i defintly know pintos but wouldnt recomend one.

the mini cooper is a cool car. check out a bmw 2002. that not the year its a model. sounds like it would be right up her alley. you could look an mgs also. if shes looking for small and cute. consider a miata. they are fun to drive, just not fun to be seen driving. they handle really well and get great milage.

I'm with Sierra Grabber and sam03rc, a 64-68 Mustang coupe or convertible. Fun, economical, and a good investment

Ever notice how those 75-77 Celica's are an almost perfect mix of Mustang and Maverick?

Glad to see I'm not the only one who saw that ... add a 70 Torino grille and headlights to the mix, and I think it about wraps it all up.

While MGs and Triumphs fit the image of what she might be after, with regard to anything British from that time period, I am going to have to say .... run away! It was hard to keep them running and not leaking when they were new. They used natural rubber for most of the seals back then and in a hotter climate, they just crumble.

I had a 76 Jaguar XJ12L ... my happiest day with that POS was the day that my ex demanded it in her part of the divorce settlement, and I got to keep the other two cars ... Win/Win!!! ... whoo-hoo!

Why were the British never a big force in the computer revolution ?...
because they never could figure out how to make them leak all over the floor ... :rofl2:

I am leaning toward Indyman's choices ... well thought-out! I also think that if you got her near a 6 cylinder Grabber in a super-bright color like the one Bryant posted, it might change her mind. It is likely that her only experiences have been with your car and it's hot rod temperment.

VEGA. That's a Chevy Maverick...Those older Celicas remind me of miniature Challengers.
