I say a 2000-02 Mercury Cougar with a V6. Very underated car just like our Mavs and Comets.

Wait till you have to change the alternator in that V-6 Cougar. You will wish you had an MG...

That Celica is alright ... looks good. Probably isn't on the recall list either .. ;)

My wife has just read this thread ... her vote is newer T-Bird ... look up "Pacific Coast" edition ... only 1000 were made ... we really wanted one, but it was toooooo much money, and one size smaller than her Mustang. just two seats (no room for me and the grandkid ... I'd have to stay home ... wife would be OK with that ... she is saying this on Valentines Day, too).

Here is a nice page showing details ...

    Lil likes the Capris, too.
Just found an eBay auction ... 24K miles ... right in LA, too ... cheap ....

and it's not this bodystyle, either .... yuck ...

These are more like "Crapi" instead of "Capri"

Those old Celicas are affordable just like the Mavs also. Can get a real nice late 70's Celica for 4 grand or less. I've looked at them on and off over the years since we used to have an 81 Celica and loved it. Just dont have the room for another car or I'd buy one for my wife to replace the 81 she ran into a pole.

ha my mother drives a 454 olds cutlass canary yellow she has had it since she was 16 so i dont think there is a problem with women driving masculine cars but i do agree get her a comet/maverick, cougar, mustang coupe, or a mercury montaray or even a cyclone

with all these cars mentioned very few come close to being as nice as a maverick and very few are in the price range of a maverick.

VW beetle, Karmann Ghia or Type 34 Karmann Ghia. Vdubs are sexy cars when done right, and make great sleepers! My lady's first car was a baby blue 69 beetle, and we put everything we could into it before she was slammed into. Great cars to tinker on and great daily drivers. I just sold a 71 to get my mav.
