great advice, will definitely try it. 123mph, wow!
Bryant and I were talking about advancing timing, I'll give it a shot.
I have my MSD limiter set at 6800 right now.

Okay, brain fart time. 10.5 is VERY rich, 12.5 is Rich and 14.7 is just about ideal. :slap: Can I just claim dyslexia or are you going to make me admit to being a blithering idiot?

The car is running rich. When the operator went full throttle, the accelerator pump dumped much more fuel in which made it even richer.

Lean out the jets both front and back first. Get an A/F ratio meter with data logging. There are several good ones available.

Run the car with the leaner tune the way you usually do, then run it with the various shift points. Compare times at each point on the track and trap speeds. Use the A/F ratio data to further adjust your carb. Once the ratio is somewhere near 14, then take a look at what happens when the accelerator pumps are used. If it is still going to 12.5 or richer, then you may need to shorten the stroke on the pumps.

As for shifting after peak HP or TQ, your peak HP is still 5400 rpm. I would take an afternoon at Barona to test shift points from about 5200 to 6500 with nothing else being touched. See what happens. That is what test and tune is for, right?

Sorry again for the brain fart.

well test and tune is really helpful if you are a very consistent driver. But as of right now I'm all over the place on ET and even MPH. There isn't a whole lot of other driver's I know that can be consistent enough that they can actual take advantage of testing and tuning. Add a manual transmission and change in ambien temperatures as the day progresses and 1/10th of a second or a 1-2mph can be due to multiple factors.
