who the hell wants a pin on... were in the year 2007! j/k!!!

bolt on using stock latch... the only way to go. it cost more but like i said ever seen a fire under a hood with someone who has a 4 pin on hood. yeah not good ;)

but i guess if its a full on framed race car you have no choice for a pin on. but thats not the market i'm going for. if someone wants to pin it on they can drill holes in the CF ;)

I think that the scoops should be moulded in without seams. SOOOO SMOOOTH!

Any progress on the "Grabber Carbon Fiber Hood"? Just curious.:yup: Do you have any of the other Cabon Fiber hoods left? If so I would be interested.
    Thanks

Sounds like my NOS Grabber hood would be the perfect template. Only problem you've got is you cant have it.
As far as fibreglass hoods, they dont have the detail around the scoops.
Look forward to seeing how the detail comes out in carbon fibre.
Scoops should be made as a seperate piece and bolted in not molded as one piece.

It's tough finding a perfect grabber hood. I've only found (3) NOS ones in 35 years of collecting/selling Ford parts and only 1 out of the 3 was what I would consider near perfect. The last one I had last year went for alot farther North of $675, so the price seems reasonable. I can't wait to see the hood in carbon fiber and will pass along your info. to anyone who is searching for a grabber hood at any of the shows. Good luck and keep us posted. Ed

    I disagree.
I think that even the stock hood would have looked better if the scoops were one with the hood.
That detail of the seams around the removeable scoops is a distraction IMO.
Ford didn't make them removeable for any cosmetic reason.
It was about money and the ease of building it that way.
I think you would have to agree if there was no benefit to making the parts seperate, they would have made it one piece.
Doing the CF or FG in seperate pieces just makes the job more expensive and complex. The same reason Ford didn't do the whole hood in sheet metal applies here in reverse.

    Gotta be one piece IMO.
If you want the cluttered 3 piece look, then it sounds like time to bolt on that NOS hood... ;)
