Indyman, to answer one of your questions, our deck lids do have a slight bow in them. I reworked an original spoiler a while back, it was cracked and broken on both the top and rear faces. I used wood and C-clamps to hold it together while I was fiberglassing it back together. When it was dry, I removed the C-clamps and wood braces, and it didn't fit. It was then I realized there is a slight crown to the trunk lid. I added more fiberglass, then sanded it down to the proper crown. I had about 24-36 hours in fiberglass work and sanding to get it smooth and the proper shape. That spoiler went on a friends {Clay Dye} car. Somebody that works with the stuff all the time would probably be faster. Your spoiler looks almost like an unfinished piece. I see a lot of small pits and holes that will need to be filled. The fiberglass jelly will work great for that. It will take you some work and time, but I see no reason why it can't be made to work and look stock. It's a shame they didn't finish it better at the factory. I can see why they have a bad rep.

But for $100? I'll have to check their site to see if they claim it ready for paint and/or bolt on.

Thanks ford84stepside for clearing up the bow question on our decklids. That clears up a major concern I thought would need addressed. We'll just have to wait and see once I get my car back home. The pits shown in photo 4 are around 1/32" deep. Even though the photos make the look like moon craters, the biggest one is probably 1/8" in diameter. The glass jelly will easily take care of that and will be one the minor issues.

The $100 I gambled was based on a 30% internet discount promotion. I noticed their current "list" price is $149 which would make the spoiler right at $105 now. Shipping is added of course but I arranged for a buddy to pick it up for me and ship it using my FEDEX account number and saved those dollars. They did charge me $10 for a box, but it saved my buddy having to find, glue and tape together scrounged up cardboard

The tone this thread has taken is good and I promise I'll keep you all posted on the project. It will be honest and documented. Bear with me as I tackle it. It's not likely something I'll do all in one weekend but I'll make sure to add when each step is taken.
