Mine touched the tower only when the engine rocked. Thanks for the thread!!! Makes me even MORE happy I got rid of those heads!
Well thanks for the support..........lol They came with the motor and will work for the short term. I've got plans of a tad bit bigger motor in the next few years
I have a 5.0 out of a 98 explorer in my 77 with he GT40p heads and through trial and error I got them to work; however, I'd say my manifolds are choking down the car a bit over headers. I used a set of reproduction HiPo 289 exhaust manifolds and then took it to the exhaust shop to have the rest finished up. Clearance is good other than being close to the steering box.
