Have I over spent for it's worth?

    Wow what a great story. My opinion is save the car and give your son something to look forward to when he come home. The car will have more sentimental value than than money can replace.:Welcome:

    So, basically, your son has no interest in the car and in back in California and wants a truck instead of the Maverick. The car was a gift from grandma and was in poor shape when received. It is a 4-door model, so the price will be much lower than if it is a 2-door model. There is another thread here that talks about 4-door value and pricing. You might want to check it out.

    If grandma's Maverick has no sentimental value to you, sell it for what you can and write off the loss to experience. I think Craig's price was even being generous and you will need to find that special person who wants a nice looking 4-door model. Most people don't.
