    How did the stereo fare with being shorted into?

    I don't think it was actually shorted into. Just wasn't grounded properly. Should be okay.

    If you mean the stereo in my story, it was fine...the blue/red wire would zap against the outer case of the stereo and quickly blow the fuse.
