You are welcome to your opinion. But many of us appreciate the service he provides and would hate to see him go out of business. Besides.....he does visit this forum from time to time.

You sir, are welcome to your opinion...

And I would happen to agree with you! :Handshake
Ol' Chuckie and I had a similar exchange in the early 90s...
That was the last I saw fit to deal with him.
Our family here on the board is the way this thing should work.
Not the way he tries to do things.
I am glad I found other enthusiasts that are not cutthroat.
    My opinion and .02

    Wtf?!?
    What "service" does he provide?
The only thing he has done for us lately is bid against us for Maverick parts on eBay... So that he might score them before us and then sell the same part to us or our brothers at a greatly inflated price!
I'm sorry, this is a hobby.
If you are in it soley for speculation, you should not expect respect from true enthusiasts.

Having met Chuck personally and knowing him for many years....I can truly say he is a true enthusiast. The last I looked...it wasn't against the law to bid on stuff, win it, and resell it. It also isn't against the law to make a profit.

One nice thing about bidding against Chuck on eBay is that since he is looking to resell ... it's generally pretty easy to outbid him .... :)

BTW .... Long before the MCCI, Maverick.to, etc, etc .... Chuck Stalnaker was the only Maverick Guru around ... I've probably dealt with Chuck since the late 80's ... early 90's ... long before the days of internet .... Like Craig said ... he is an enthusiast ... but a business man too ...

 Where did I ever say it was "against the law"?
I asked what "service" he was good for?
I guess I missed the enthusiast in him while he was trying to bend me over...

In an economics sense...people can't be "bent over", unless it is at the end of the barrel of a gun, etc. They can only allow themselves to be bent over. Who's fault is that?

Yea, they can. And as ratio stated, he did not allow it. :slap: The guy gets no appreciation from me. Enthusiasts help each other, not take advantage of each other. There is no law against makeing a profit, but you better be able to take the heat for it when you are blatantly buying things just to resale at twice or more what you likely gave for it, especially when you are bidding against someone who actually NEEDS it... We aren't the only four (my dad included) who feel that way either, his name has came up in several real life conversations. His reputation is out there...

Then you better not ever buy from ANY company or business out there.....because they all sell products for at least twice of what they paid for it. That includes McDonalds, Wal-Mart, Sears, and the places that most of us work.

I guess I'm guilty ... I bid on stuff all the time I don't need ... I just like to have a nice stash and will snag a bargain or hard to find part when I can ..

You are completely missing the point.

Yea, and you resale things for reasonable prices, too.

grbmaverickmo is right, no more on this.

I am not missing the point. Prices are determined by the market. Example: If several people bid on an NOS front hood lip molding and it goes for $280....that is what it is worth. Nothing "ridiculous" about it. The market has determined that it is a "reasonable" price. Same is true for any product that any company sells.
