    I would think that since the 351W is taller than the 302 the distributor shaft would also be longer from the boss beside the gear to the top of the block.
    302 is 1/4" and 351w is 5/16" right?

    No, the extra length in the oil pump shaft makes the difference.

    I haven't tried this mod myself, but I am hesitant to call my uncle a liar, however I do see the difference in the shaft drive diameter. I have a 351 and 302 block lying next to each other at my shop, so I suppose I have to prove it to myself and try to stab a 351 dizzy in the 302 block.:huh:

    My uncle IS an excellent BS'er, so maybe he was just trying to mess with my head. He has been known to do that on purpose too.

    im sure you could drill the hole in the block to fit the 351 dizzy. but now days the aftermarket drive shafts are stong and dont twist or snap.
