    Just a question - is a 69.5 a good thing or bad?

And how would I be able to tell if it is?

69.5 is a term used for the early Maverick's although they were titled as a 1970. The Maverick was released during a half year in April 1969.
Easiest way to tell is the location of the ignition switch. If it is on the lower dash it is a 69.5 the later 1970's had the switch on the column.

Yep it is. Ignition is on the dash instead of the column.

Welcome from Pittsburgh Pa! Sorry on your loss. Car really looks nice and I have too many toys right now. $4500 seems like a steal to me,, Car looks real clean, 69.5 helps,, We should have someone close that may help on fair value on your car better. Good Luck an stick around

Sorry for your loss. Welcome to the board. You should keep the Maverick as it is very nice looking, quite clean. NMCC
