    Or stick weld with a nickle rod. And you usually have to preheat the area with a torch.

    Yup, Barry,, that is how I have done it, in fact, the only way I have done it. Never used a tig yet.

    I had a crack in the water jacket at the rear of a block. A friend of mine drilled the ends, ground it down and stick welded it with a Nickel rod. Ran that block for years without a leak.

    We will see how this works. If it doesnt...well that would NOT be the first time I messed something up:D

    Going to run a couple of different tests on it to verify the integrity of the material in that area. Not going to just slap it on and pray....
